The year 2022, which is experiencing a resurgence of activity in several areas after the COVID-19 crisis, has changed forecasts due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. But the recruitment of R&D engineers in the engineering, IT and consulting sectors is going well.
The Leaders’ Employment Association, known as Apec, has revised its 2022 leadership barometer due to the war in Ukraine. Taking into account the first consequences of this conflict, the report states that the employment dynamics of executives may thus affect the time after the strong recovery observed in 2021 (+ 18% for hiring managers compared to 2020). However, the forecasts for the recruitment of executives for 2022, although slightly lower, should remain well-targeted: 282,000 employees, ie + 5% compared to 2021.
Thus, the forecasts for the recruitment of executives for 2022 were corrected: a sectoral analysis (by 26 sectors), conducted in March 2022, taking into account the first consequences of the war in Ukraine. Added to this are the results of the latest wave of the Apec quarterly survey, conducted from March 7 to 18, 2022 among 1,000 companies. Finally, Apec takes into account the latest macroeconomic forecasts of the Banque de France for March 2022.
Recruit staff for IT and R&D research
The study shows that the 3 driving sectors of managerial employment (R&D, IT, consulting) will be particularly active and will return to pre-crisis levels. Together, these three sectors account for 45% of 2022 hiring, with 61,000 IT positions, 39,000 R&D positions and 28,300 legal, accounting and consulting positions. Thus, forecasts for these sectors increase by 8-10%. Other sectors, on the other hand, will remain very backward (hotels, restaurants, media, automotive, aeronautics, pharmaceuticals, etc.). These areas account for slightly less than 11% of all planned hires.
In terms of functions, IT and research – R&D account for 21% and 18% of the planned recruitment for 2022, respectively. 16% of sales and marketing positions are in the TOP-3. The least popular professions correspond to higher enterprises. (9% of the set is planned for 2022), finance, accounting, management control, audit (8%) and procurement, quality, maintenance, logistics, security (6%).
Aix-en-Provence and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, these are the regions that are gaining
Most regions exceed pre-crisis standards, with the exception of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Corsica. Compared to the announced evolution for 2019-2022, forecasts for 2021-2022 have slightly increased. The Upper de France and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes are leading in this point: the former is rising from -3% to + 8%, the latter from -1% to + 6%. These are the two largest increases in the number of executives recorded between 2019 and 2022. The national average was 0% in 2019-2022 and + 5% in 2021-2022.
If we take a closer look, the льle-de-France region is the first region to hire, with 134,600 vacancies open in 2022, followed by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (30,200 planned hires) and Au-de-France. 500 employees). ). On the contrary, the regions with the least recruitment are Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (5,700 jobs), the Val de Loire center (6,600 jobs) and Normandy (6,800 jobs). It should be noted that managers with 5 years of experience or less account for 50% of the hiring planned for 2022. Profiles of managers with experience from 6 to 10 years are also more in demand, they account for 28% of hiring in 2022 (+ 20% between 2021 and 2022). However, we are seeing a decrease (-7% compared to 2021) compared to profiles sought after with more than 10 years of experience, which is 22% of hiring per year.
